"This Ricco Kuehn W393 triple horn ... is the best horn I have ever played! The resonance and consistency throughout the entire range is remarkable. The horn behaves very honestly - I can trust the notes to be and feel right where I expect them. The intonation is excellent. The sound is incredible. The horn plays almost effortlessly and truly enhances my playing in all dynamics, articulations, and range! ...  Thank you so much for a very special, extraordinary instrument, Ricco! "

More and more, professionals, amateurs, and students are discovering Ricco Kühn horns. They are discovering that the sound they are looking for comes from the unique blend of old worldcraftsmanship and new technology that characterize Ricco's instruments.  The hand hammered one-piece bell gives a quality unlike other bells.  And the intonation and response are all carefully measured by today's technology.

W294, same as model W293 but with stop valve

Models

  • NEW!! - Model W393X - Full triple horn in F/Bb/F alto with slides to convert from F alto to Eb alto.  This horn retains all the features of Ricco's W393 full triple horn, but has been slightly re-wrapped to allow insertion of an included set of Eb alto slides.  For a modest increase in price you can improve the utility of your triple horn, giving you great flexibility in your choice of fingerings and sound quality in the alto range.
  • W293X - Knopf wrap full double horn.  An improved taper and wrap make this the next generation of K-model (Geyer-wrap) horns.  Agile and responsive, beautifully in tune, this is a horn that is in a class by itself.  This is a versatile, lyrical instrument equally at home in any setting.
  • W293 - The traditional K-model horn with hand-hammered bell.  A superbly crafted instrument that gives a bright, convincing sound that blends well with any section, any setting.

Pricing, Ordering, and Terms

Our instruments are sold as one of three types of order:  Stock, Special, and Custom.  Each has its own pricing, availability, and trial period policy.  All have a manufacturer's one-year warranty.

  • STOCK ORDERS - Stock orders are sold from current inventory, at current prices (see above).  Stock orders have a full seven day trial period policy:  You many return the instrument for any reason within seven days of receipt, and if it is returned in original condition the price you paid for it will be refunded to you (less any shipping or other incidental costs of return).
  • SPECIAL ORDERS - Special orders are much the same as Stock orders, except that the item is not currently in stock and you must wait until delivered from the manufacturer.  Delivery times will vary.  Special orders are sold at Current Prices only if paid in full at the time of the order.  If you do not pay in advance, then exchange rates, shipping rates, commodities prices, or any other factor may increase or decrease the price of the instrument, and you will pay the price that is current at the time of delivery.  The same seven day trial period policy applies as for Stock orders.
  • CUSTOM ORDERS - A custom order is an item that we have determined cannot be kept in stock, for whatever reason.  As such, it must be paid in full, in advance.  However, you receive a 10% discount on the price of the instrument (not on the price of accessories or shipping).  A seven day modified trial period applies:  you may return it in new condition and we will sell it for you at full price, no commission.  When it is subsequently sold, you will receive the purchase price of the instrument in full.

These terms may be modified at any time before the sale of an instrument, so please be sure to inquire about terms when ordering.
